Headset Profiler - Connecting Bluetooth Headsets to Mobile Phones
Headset Profiler is a utility for connecting Bluetooth headsets to mobile phones. It can work with most headsets that use the Hands Free Profile (HFP) and Headset Profile (HSP). HFP is the simplest Bluetooth profile, providing support for voice calls using a mono headset. This is the most common type of headset used in conjunction with cell phones. HSP also supports music streaming via the Advanced Audio Distribution Profile (A2DP), commonly referred to as Bluetooth stereo audio streaming.
The Hands-Free Profile is much more robust than the headset profile, allowing your device to control the phone. This includes answering and ending calls, switching between call waiting systems, dialing numbers, accessing the phone's contacts list, and more.
Audio Gateway allows the microphone and speakers of a Bluetooth-enabled computer to act as an input and output device for a mobile phone or other Bluetooth device, enabling you to take a telephone call while working on your laptop. This requires the creation of a secure connection.
The telehealth protocol provides a way to transmit health data between Bluetooth devices, typically a Bluetooth Health Device and your mobile phone or tablet. You must first establish a channel between the two devices, a process called opening a "health sink". This involves creating a security connection through GAP. This may require a PIN code or other form of authentication. You must then register a Bluetooth Health Callback and an application configuration, which the health device will use to send the health data back to your mobile phone or tablet.
